Arabic audio to text: when to use a transcript or a summary
A transcript helps you check the words. A summary helps you understand the point. When an Arabic voice message includes a task, a name, or a date, use both before acting on it.
Start with the question you need answered
If you need a particular number, name, or sentence, read the transcript and listen to that part of the recording. If you need the main request in a long message, start with the summary. A short summary is selective by design; it is not a substitute for the original words when details matter.
A small example
Consider this illustrative message: “Please send the photos tomorrow. Choose the clearest three, and tell me when you have sent them.” A useful summary would keep the request and deadline. The transcript lets you check whether the speaker said three photos or all the photos. This is an explanation of the workflow, not a measured accuracy claim.
Review Arabic dialects and mixed-language details
Dialect, fast speech, background noise, and words borrowed from another language can make a recording harder to interpret. Check personal names, place names, amounts, and dates against the audio. Do not assume that a fluent-looking sentence is correct just because it reads naturally.
Choosing Arabic for the app interface changes its menus. It does not guarantee correct recognition of every dialect or recording. Clear audio helps, but AI output still needs your review.
Use the two views in VoiceBrief
Install VoiceBrief on iPhone or iPad and sign in with Apple or Google. Share an audio message through an app’s sharing options, import an audio file, or record in VoiceBrief. When importing inside the app, you can preview the recording and select a section to process.
After processing, read the summary and open the transcript to check important details. Treat suggested replies as drafts: edit and send them yourself. Check your available minutes; the free download includes limited free usage, and some result sections and reply styles require Pro.
Before sharing someone else’s recording
Use audio you have permission to process. VoiceBrief uses cloud services and needs an internet connection; it is not offline-only. It does not scan your WhatsApp conversations. Read the privacy policy before uploading sensitive information, including how temporary audio, retry results, and service-provider retention are handled.
